What others have said about Jerry’s workshops:

‘Your workshop was a turning point for me. I was floundering trying to understand and work with CW and Oils. I now have such a different view as to how to proceed. You are a terrific instructor, giving everyone the confidence and desire to learn and improve.’ - Shelley H.

‘Go for it, this is an opportunity of a lifetime. Jerry’s workshop will take your creativity to a whole new level.’ - Jane C.

‘Working with Jerry was profoundly satisfying and turned out to be a very important experience for me developmentally. He is a most astonishing person; a polymath who is also a gifted teacher. He has thought deeply about the elements of painting and has developed an intellectual framework which informs his work as well as his approach to teaching. His instruction is intellectually rigorous and demanding while simultaneously supportive and noncritical. He has a decidedly clear vision about composition and how to make a successful painting and communicates this to his students by teaching them how to ‘look’. He maintains a steady focus and gives students his full attention when critiquing a work. I was continually astonished by his ability to see through the ‘mud’ to find elements in a painting worthy of development. Having had the opportunity to work with him was a singular experience and if I am lucky and the stars are aligned in my favor, an experience I would like to repeat again (and again).’ - Laurie P.

‘Jerry set the bar so high that I won’t be able to attend a workshop with anyone else.’ - Robin M.

‘Transformational. Jerry dives much deeper than a typical paint-along, how-to or open studio painting workshop. It was well planned with digestible chunks of information each day. Demos, video, lecture, one on ones. He is a fabulous instructor.’ - Donna L.

‘Jerry listened and treated me as if I were the only one there when helping. He was direct, challenging, and a joy to work with.’ - Chris G.

‘An extraordinary human and teacher/coach who made a difference in all of our lives. I can speak for everyone, since these were the sentiments often voiced throughout the group. My instincts directed me toward the workshop and thankfully I followed them.’ - Sunny M.

‘Thank you for such a wonderful workshop. It had such an impact on me. I came away with a confidence I have never known before. You are a great teacher and mentor; you give so much to your students!’ - Robin C.

‘Jerry is very knowledgable; kind; patient; and readily reduces complicated subjects into easily understood concepts and renders difficult techniques into easy steps.’ - Diane L.

‘Jerry has a deep capacity to tune into the student's state of development, their point of view and get us to stretch and expand our work literally and psychologically.’ - Patricia M.

‘You have an amazing ability to observe, articulate and direct.’ - Becky Y.

‘I was amazed at how his teaching style benefitted everyone, from beginners to even the most experienced artists in the group.’ - Kim T.
